Fan Dian, born in Fujian in 1955, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He graduated with a Master's degree in Chinese Art History from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and holds a Master's degree in Literature. He is currently the Dean, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Literary Critics Association, Deputy Director of the Art Education Committee of the Ministry of Education, and a member of the Central Museum of Cultural and Historical Studies. On December 23, 2018, at the first meeting of the 9th Council of the China Artists Association, he was elected as the Chairman of the China Artists Association. On August 18, 2020, hired as a consultant for the China Association of Literary Critics. On November 3, 2020, he was hired as a consultant for the first National Major Theme Art Creation and Art Committee.
