Jiang Dawen has been passionate about calligraphy since childhood. He
has repeatedly copied calligraphy from famous calligraphers such as
Wang, Yan, Liu, Ou, Mi, Zhao, etc. He has also learned and mastered the
research and practice of imitating Song style and ceramic calligraphy
art. He is able to integrate ancient and modern styles, as well as the
strengths of various calligraphers, to form his own unique calligraphy
style. In terms of running script, it is particularly outstanding, with
small and powerful characters, clear fonts, strong texture, and rich
charm. The large characters (ranking books) created are vigorous and
majestic. The
ancients once said, "To cover the world with poverty, to show the
absence of the sun and moon, to wield a delicate brush, all kinds of
things come from the heart, to display the power of every inch, and a
thousand miles in the palm." If you want the world to be in the heart,
you must keep the world in your heart, express your sleeves, and display
the spirit of ancient times, inherit the culture of a thousand years,
and set a benchmark for future generations. When observing the works of
ancient people, you often have this thought, constantly reflect on
yourself, and dare not slack off. Learning
from the ancient method can not be done without being developed.
Learning from the ancient method can not be done without going against
the old method. Calligraphy and painting should not only go into the
tradition, but also go out of the tradition, absorb the essence from the
ancient posts, explore the true feelings in real life, gain inner
resonance from practice, and find their own way in places where there is
no way. More important than "learning from the ancient people's traces"
is "learning from the ancient people's heart."
